California Dreamin’ | Santa Monica Pier Photo Shoot

Where do I begin! I visited Santa Monica several years ago as a tourist. I always wanted to go back to shoot. So while I was in LA recently for a project and connected with my good friend from college. Stacey is an amazing stylist and a perfect model! Ever since our college days, I’ve always admired her sense of style. She makes fashion look effortless and the way she puts things together always turns out looking so fly. I’m so happy we were able to connect to create some fun looks at Santa Monica Pier.

For the photographers reading, while working on the pier, I used natural light and made sure to use different techniques to take advantage of the cali sun. It was harsh sun around midday, but this is the harsh shadows that makes a fashion styled photo interesting. I used both my 50mm f/1.2 and my 70-200 mm f/2.8.
