Wedding Day Photography Tips from Liv Chic Events

I’ve got another fabulous wedding planner interview with the amazing, Olivia Quintyne from Liv Chic Events! How does photography factor into your wedding planning process?

I always tell my couples that there are things they shouldn’t skimp on and photography is one of them. Those memories are going to be living in their homes in a frame or a book and quality is what they want.

What do you wish photographers and couples knew about timelines and scheduling?

I wish they remembered that there are other moving parts involved in the day.  For example when the photographer wants to get photos of the couple outside the ceremony space and all the guests rush them to say congratulations, but we need to hit the road or else there’s traffic. All those things turn into

What qualities or traits does an exceptional wedding photographer need other than taking great photos?

1)Having great people skills is key to getting those amazing shots. It makes people feel comfortable around you.

2) having an eye for detail. It’s those stolen glances, the tears from mom during the father daughter dance. Or the flower girl and ring bearer kneeling down to look through the basement window of the church because they are kids and the adults are off taking boring photos. Moments that you wouldn’t think to capture. When I look through the wedding photos from the photographer if I see those kind of moments it warms my heart.

What are some note worthy trends you’re seeing this year?

A lot of greenery in the florals and the decor. Flower arches and the use of balloons.

What attracts you and your couples to SCP each year?

Your personality and your photography style.

What does the perfect wedding day look like in photos?

Fun, candid, unfiltered, lots of laughter, silly moments because you need balance, and love of course.
