Free Event for Photographers: #PhotoMeetSCP
I have organized a free event for photographers along with the ever-so-talented, Leigh Events. It is a pop up styled wedding shoot, in different cities, where a group of photographers get to meet and also shoot with me! As photographers, we often shoot alone. But this time, I want us all to grow and build together. My vision is to join forces because we’re stronger that way! We’ll bounce ideas off of each other, I’ll share some of my tips, you’ll share yours, and we will create something beautiful. All the images will be your own for social media content and portfolios!

What is a Pop Up Shoot?
I kind of made this up (although the concepts already exists somewhere out there). My vision is to mix the elements of a pop up shop, photography workshop, and a photo walk. All the photographers in attendance will bring their cameras with them. We will walk around a certain area in a city with a subject(s) and photograph them along the way. In a photo walk, photographers focus more on the things that interest them, not necessarily or solely on people. In a workshop, there can be more teaching in a classroom setting. #PhotoMeetSCP is different, we will have a sole focus and I will be facilitating the shoot rather than teaching or selling anything. Of course, I will answer questions and share some tips about how I’m shooting, but the goal is to have fun! How to Prepare for #PhotoMeetSCP?
Aside from a camera, I suggest bringing the bare minimum as far as gear goes. Try bringing one or two lenses with a small bag, since we’ll be walking around. Leave the tripod at home and make sure you have an extra battery and enough memory on your cards for the photos you’ll be taking. I also suggest wear layers and comfortable clothes and shoes. No need to dress up. Also, check the weather so that you can dress appropriately. It also doesn’t hurt to bring your business cards in case you meet someone you’d like to keep in touch with.
