How to Become a Photographer

This week on my YouTube channel, I’m answering a question I received via email in my first #AskSamAnything video! I’m still working out the kinks and doing my best to get over my nerves because I want to share what I know with others. I am self-taught and so I know that it’s possible to be a great photographer. I hope these videos help beginners and those that are just stuck in a rut.

Photography is an awesome way to be creative! And although, I could talk about my passion for hours, I kept this video really short.

In this 5 minute video, I answer a question received via email from a teacher that wants to know how to become a photographer. She’s found a passion for it, but she isn’t sure where to start. My answer provides some beginner photography tips to help build a portfolio, get better, more confident, and eventually get clients. I also discuss my thoughts on whether volunteering as a photography intern is a good idea.
