If you’re shooting out in the snow this winter there’s something you must know about it. Snow is a natural reflector which can make shooting in the winter weather quite simple. Since light bounces and reflects off all surfaces, it is important to be aware of the surfaces that reflect light the best. Light will reflect the color of the surface it is bouncing off, so white snow reflects a white light which is really flattering. When you are shooting in snowy areas, let the snow fill in shadows and bounce light to help your subject look stunning. The image above had lots of reflected light hitting my face, no flash needed or additional retouching was needed for fill on this shot!
